Panaiotis

I'm an eclectic architect specialized in the field of Cultural Heritage. Graduated from the University of Florence, I become expert in national and international projects, museums, exhibitions and UNESCO applications. As a member of ICOMOS Italy I work for the protection of World Heritage helping UNESCO especially as an expert on the Oasis and Traditional Settlements.

The ICOMOS members are like the “Guardians of Heritage” and “Seekers of Meaning”, and in its role of advisory body for UNESCO, brings experts, mayors, public administrations, associations and civil society for the implementation of United Nations 2030 objective on Sustainable Cities and Communities. The main goals of this new Agenda are to realize concrete actions for the protection of endangered areas and the struggle against climate change and hydro-geological risks and migration crisis.

I was involved in the report for the inclusion of Al-Ahsa Oasis, an Evolving Cultural Landscape in the UNESCO World Heritage list; in the Management and restoration plan for the UNESCO site Historic Centre of Sheki with the Khan’s Palace; in the project of the Eco-Center, a visitor centre area, of Cultural Sites of Al Ain (Hafit, Hili, Bidaa Bint Saud and Oases Areas) in UAE; and in other projects on UNESCO site as Al Ula (Saudi Arabia), Land of Frankincense (Oman) and Matera (Italy) and in various museums: Vatican Museums; Profane Gregorian Museum; New Museum of the Nymphaeum (Rome); Pompei (Boscoerale); Ara Pacis Museum; Jerusalem of San Vivaldo; Rimini Galli Theater Museum; Castle of Santa Severina; Camaiore Museum; Archaeological Park of Francavilla Marittima; Bretti and Sea Museum. ---
