La donna aquila è una figura fantastica che i cretesi raffigurarono spesso nelle rappresentazioni artistiche. Essi si ispirarono, probabilmente, a figure divine o semi-divine di ambito orientale (probabilmente in seguito ai contatti con la Siria). La donna uccello ha corpo di donna e possenti ali di aquila e viene talvolta raffigurata con le braccia rivolte verso l’alto, forse in segno di benedizione e preghiera. Essa è adornata spesso da collane e gioielli e veste lunghe gonne a balze dai colori sgargianti. E' generalmente raffigurata a petto scoperto, simbolo di fertilità.

 I'd describe this Lady as an Angel, but I'm not sure the Messengers of God have "drumsticks" quite like that!:D (Big Grin)
