I visited Arbeia Roman Fort just south of Hadrian's Wall recently, see Apparently the name means Fort of the Arabs because the people who were stationed there came from the far south-east of the Empire. It is a fairly bleak place now and I wondered what these people from hot, sunny countries must have made of Tyneside back then when there were no cities and nothing to the north but rather unfriendly Picts!
Wow... You've done a nice trip! Beautiful Fort, too bad if it is entirely a modern reconstruction. And it is clear that on the background there is an interesting story that can be told. Also from the point of view of an illustration Thank you for the story!
