I love classical history ( mainly Roman era ) and I think this is just fabulous! Will you be doing her as well? It would be also great if you did his wife to see what she would have looked like in real life as well...

I am very pleased that there is interest in ancient history!
Sure! I completed the reconstruction, for a private commission, in a few time I though to publish it here ;)

Hi and welcome on DeviantArt!
Yes, I sell some of my illustration and I create new illustrations for work. This in particular is part of a work in progress for a project in Pompei.
So, what can I do for you? :)

I might be interested in purchasing a portrait, but with both Terentius and his wife. How might I contact you? ok, never mind I think I figured it out, lol! Thank you!

Sono dell'idea che se si usassero certi programmi di una volta per insegnare ste cose, ci si ricorderebbe molto di più!

Being a history junkie, I LOVE THIS!  Sorry about the shouting, but I just couldn't contain myself.  I don't have time to look right now (about to head out the door), but I wonder if you have done (or will attempt) similar renderings for mosaic portraits as well.

I'll definitely be back to check out your gallery.  Now where is that watch button...

Ahahahhaha... Thank you so much Haegun,
It's NOT a problem the SHOUT! It's still a characteristic way ;)
Until now, I don't realized a reconstruction of a mosaic real, but I did other reconstructions that I'm sure, as a good lover of history like me, you can appreciate!

Ah, yes, Old One Eye.  Sure to strike fear in the heart of Macedon's enemies.

Here is one source of mosaics that you might find of interest regarding the fairly recent find in Israel:

Speaking of Israel, are you planning to do anything concerning Jerusalem?  The reason I ask is that I am writing a Catholic vampire story. part of which takes place in Jerusalem during the Passion of Christ.

Beautiful Roman mosaic in Israel! Awesome technique...
For some reconstruction about Jerusalem, I think it very improbable.
I am currently working only on subjects in Greece, Italy and Egypt. But if you have a particular need of illustrations, for a cover for example, we can find a good agreement for both of us ;)

The story I mentioned is for a Catholic Fiction writing contest.  If I am ever able to expand it to a novel to be published, I might take you up on that, if they would allow me to select the cover art.

Ahh publications, publishing... a very hard and long way. Also I have tried in the past, but it was difficult to find without paying.
For the cover, it's true, many times their command!
Best whishes Haegun, I hope to hear from you again ;)

I find it to be enormously impressive - I have to admit that seeing faces from History made real enough to walk the streets of our Modern World is a particular fascination of mine and I SWEAR I've seen gentlemen who could be this fellow's brother walking the streets of Mediterranean towns that I have visited in my time!Nod

You have hit in full the spirit of this reconstruction. It is used to familiarize themselves with people who have lived in the past, but they were like us, they are us!
In fact, an help for the reconstruction of the subject was precisely to be based the study on people living in those areas, that still have those traits as Mediterranean... to remember our past!

A very sensible reason to look into the past - to see your ancestors waiting there to wave hello! (or scowl and wonder what the world is coming to, depending on the ancestor).:D (Big Grin)

Fantastic job! I love those portraits, and you've taken them another step further towards realism. Sometimes we forget that people in history lived and breathed and felt much like we do.
